It does beep BUT, unless you're standing right in front of it, you'll never hear it. It's literally the lowest beep on any device I've experienced. If you're in the next room you won't know when it's done. Great over but the alarm stinks.

Then another knob for time and another know for temperature. Toast is separate and you turn from light to dark. I really do love this oven. No bells ring.
