• I set the oven/air fryer on a wooden surface for the initial "burn-in" run. This was done outside, of course, as it does emit a foul odor during the initial use. The wooden surface did not get hot. When I used it inside, the counter top (formica) did not get hot. The heat is vented out the back, so I kept it a few inches away from the wall. I unplug the oven after using it, but that's just a personal preference. I don't think it really matters if you leave it plugged in or not.

• I have it on my formica counter top and it hasn't left any heat marks on it. We leave it plugged in all the time. 24/7

• Yes, I have mine on a cart with a wood surface, it is fine and I never unplug it. I love it!
