A:AnswerI thought the same thing at first, but you have to wait a minute and then it starts. It's just made that way. And yes, it is supposed to flash. Make sure the basket is inserted completely. Hopefully this helps out!

A:AnswerUnless it's a very very tiny chicken, then no, it's not big enough for a chicken. At one time can put 4 thighs, 7-8 wings, or 2 chicken breasts so far but it would not fit a whole chicken even if it was cut up in my opinion.
A:AnswerI bought this based on the previous answers saying it did dehydrate, however this unit only goes down to 200 degrees F and that is usually too hot to dehydrate foods. So I would answer this as no it does not dehydrate.
