For best range consider the following: high gain CB antenna like the Cobra 4 foot fiberglass antenna - https://www.cobra.com/products/fiberglass-cb-antenna-4-ft Antenna placement on the vehicle - The center of the roof typically offer the best performance. Other mounting locations on the vehicle will still offer useful two way communications but with compromises.
