My back window is tinted pretty heavily..will the video still be able to see? If I buy it I'll be having it installed. null

I have found that the back camera is only good enough for the back seat area. It will show some of the area behind the vehicle but not like the front camera. Very narrow - does not sound like what you are looking for.

Works during the daylight but I have trouble with the rear camera at night.

When it would actually detect the rear camera, it would record through my dark tint in the daytime. At night-time, it was somewhat harder to see (naturally). However, before you buy, I highly recommend reading my review. It hardly ever automatically detects my rear camera. I have to power the unit off and back on, which is a pain to do almost EVERY SINGLE TIME. Cobra customer support said my only option is to return the camera. Done. Second camera was the same.

The camera will be able to see the same as you do. If you can see during the day it will as well, if it is difficult for you to see through the tint at night it will as well.

How heavily is pretty heavily? 20% 30%? Anything more than that will probably be illegal, and also make your footage useless especially during the night.
