Does Exactly what is designed to

Price is reasonable and design is nicely made. Front camera - Picture quality is perfect. Features are top rated. Lane departure is a little too sensitive so I turned it off. Parked feature is also sensitive, but is exactly what you'll need. Plenty of settings for anyone's accommodation including, picture 1080, 720, sound on/off, dual cam view, parking mode, etc. Rear camera is not currently in use due to placement issues. Will post another review when we install it. Overall, so far, I'm getting my money worth.

I've been using this dash cam for about a month without any problems. I would have given it a 5 Star rating but it doesn't have an Onscreen Review feature. You have to take the micro chip out and put it in USB Reader and plug into a computer. The screen is small, but adequate. In is a bit hard to see in split screen (front and back cameras side by side) but it's really not important brcause it's not for viewing, it's purpose is to record, and it does that very well. Front cam resolution is great, rear cam is lower res, but still acceptable. For the price, a descent camera.

I decided to install this camera in all the household vehicles after it captured a horrific accident that my daughter was recently involved in. It showed the driver lose control while attempting to negotiate a turn at a high rate of speed.
The only thing keeping this camera from being excellent is the suction cup sometimes comes loose and because it’s not streamlined it has to be mounted on the passenger side of the rear view mirror so that it is out of the way.
Great camera otherwise and I will soon own four of them so do not lack confidence in this product, it works as advertised.

The Cobra CDR895D is nice, as it comes with front and rear cameras. Installation was easy for me, but I have done many audio and technical modifications to my vehicles throughout the years. The small screen is basically useless while on the windshield, but reviewing the files on a computer is easy.
I also got the hardwire kit and the GPS mount, which were both easy to install.
The lane departure and collision warning systems were quite annoying and I had to turn them off. They would both go off all the time no matter which sensitivity settings I used. However, I bought it for the camera, not the accessories. The sound recording is a bit lacking and sounds like blown speakers whenever reviewing the videos, but you can still make out any important sounds or conversations if necessary. The picture is great and it functions well for the main purpose of a dash cam.
Overall, good camera for the price since it covers you front and rear. I got it on sale, under $200. Doubt I would pay the full $229 +/- full retail for it though.

Good "daytime" camera

Easy to install, some wires exposed, but easy to manage. Good video quality from both cameras. I used the "rear" camera to record in-cabin, which does good during the day, but nothing can be seen at night (camera doesn't have night vision). I deducted one star due to this. Daytime recordings are good, and the free viewer from the manufacturer makes it easy to see both front and rear camera videos at the same time. I did not get the GPS receiver, so I can't review it. Not sure if loop recording works or not, I had the loop set to 3 minutes, and it didn't begin recording when I manually started it, it said I had to delete some video files to make room. I recommend a 128gb microSD card just to get the most footage in case loop recording doesn't work. Comes with a 16gb card.
Recommended only if you intend to use it during the day.

Basic Camera

The front camera performs basic functions of recording 1080p videos while the rear camera does not provide the same quality. During night the rear camera is useless... the front camera firmware may have some bugs that need to be fixed especially if you connect the rear camera. One time the rear camera caused the system to hang, the power button did not help restarting the main camera even holding the power button for many seconds, I had to let the battery drain until the main camera turned OFF. The battery of the camera only powers the front camera and the runtime is only 30minutes or less. If you are buying the camera for the parking monitoring feature then you need to make sure you always keep the power on the camera otherwise the camera will turn off. I am using the camera now for a month, the camera went through very high temperature during the hot days in Texas (over 100F, also car parked in the sun), the front camera still operational while the rear camera is dead after around 2 weeks. One time I had the main camera not detecting the SD card because temperature was too hot, I had to turn it off and wait for around a minute or so then restarted the camera, after that things went fine. Basically if you are looking for a worry free camera then this is not your camera... I am attaching a picture showing when the rear camera start acting up...

Had bought a dashcam on eBay that died after two days. Cobra unit had strong reviews, and is working great after a month. Tied into dome light wiring to get switched power so unit turns off with car (didn't want to drain battery). Running wires to rear camera was easy and made for a clean install. Made a custom low profile mount for front camera so it was less obtrusive.

For the price it was well worth it. Yes I could have bought a camera with more features at a higher price but this one works just fine for my purpose. Front and rear cameras and looping are awesome.

Beware if you have keyless go

The camera itself was fine. Good picture, good view angle, nice that it had a rear camera as well. But a couple days later my keyless go (push button start and door handles you touch to lock and unlock) started malfunctioning. We didn’t even give it a thought that it could be the camera. Took the car to the dealer as it is still under warranty. $1700 and a week later, we get the car back (the dealer couldn’t pin point the problem so they just replaced all parts associated with the keyless go) and it still says key not detected. We just have it a try to unplug the camera. Key works fine. Plug in just the front camera. Key still works fine. Plug back in the back camera. Key becomes not detected again. So just a warning if you have keyless entry and a push button start this camera may mess with it.

Great Kit for First Dash Cam

PROS
-The kit comes with front & back cameras, along with everything needed to get it up and running
-Set up difficulty depends on your vehicle and how you choose to run the cables. For my 2013 F-150, installation was pretty easy and took me about 30 minutes start to finish.
-Video Quality is good, both cameras capture a wide angle, video retains quality at high driving speed
CONS
-Does not include a gps (for embedding speed and location in video, collision warning). In order to enable GPS, you have to buy a GPS mount (Cobra website says $49.95; no option to purchase on Cobra website; can't find it online or in-store at any common retail store)
-Front camera mount doesn't have the adjustment capabilities that I would like (it is mostly out of my line of site, but I can't position it exactly where I want it; I will jerry-rig it when/if I am able to find and purchase the GPS mount)
Overall it is a solid first-time dash cam kit.

Gave it this review, cameras are good, but the problem is that it does not stay put, the rear camera does not stick at all and keeps falling off, The front sometimes does stays, but lately the front has been falling. The suction cup is like losing it's grip. But the cameras do work great, it just the staying put does not work right. Had to buy strong Velcro strips for back camera

Upon installing, there has not been any problems with it whatsoever. The quality of the main camera is great, so if you need HD video, this would be a good bet. It's simple to set up when you turn it on for the first time, and it's user-friendly enough to find the settings again quickly afterwards. It does come with a 16GB already, but you can buy a larger memory card as well. It is well worth it if you're looking for a good dash cam with both front and rear cameras.
And to clarify, this is not a sponsored review.

Purchased this to protect myself as I drive 100,000 + miles a year. This is fairly simple to setup and operate but still having issues with downloading to PC, the directions in the box are just for the quick set up. Guess I’ll have to get board and research it online.

I liked both cameras very much the front facing in the rear facing I just wish the rear facing would’ve had night vision so you can see clearly when it’s dark the clarity is not good at all.

This dashcam is dry useful and is very easy to set up. Only thing that would make it 5 starship is having the back camera at 1080p as well, it’s hard to see details in The 720p quality, but not the end of the world.

works very well, installed right away and is still in use. Travel a lot and have recorded major vehicle accidents, and other incidents such as burning cars. Rear camera has recorded other drivers, speeding and coming up behind me, and changing lanes at the very last minute. Video would have shown that I had not done anything wrong.
