Since the Cobra Power 500 W is rated for 500 Watts at its AC output it should be more than capable of operating a Lazy Boy power recliner if the Web based specifications are reliable. However, The Cobra POWER 500 W should be hard wired directly to a 12V Battery that is capable of delivering the required current for a 500 Watt rated power inverter. The other comment about motor startup surge current is also correct but the Cobra 500 W surge current rating is about 1000 Watts (for a short period of time) but is more than capable of starting a power recliner AC motor.

Please try again later.That depends on the lazyboy's electric motor power demands...If the start up power of the chairs motor exceeds the capabilities of the inverter it will not work...Remember that the start up demands of an electric motor, will exceed the running demands of an electric motor.
