The bracket sticks to the Windshield but the camera is magnetically connted to the bracket so that you can take it off anytime.

It's a strong magnetic mount that takes considerable force to remove (good to ensure it won't fall off in an accident), but it snaps easily in place when you mount it again. It's worth noting that power is transmitted through the mount, so it can't be on while disconnected from the mount.
