Don’t know about compatibility with a specific vehicle, but sure the techs at Best Buy could easily tell you, or the web site for Compustar. That said it’d be pretty shocking if it didn’t work in your Equinox. Assuming it does, yes, absolutely, you can use your iPhone- I do! It’s. Actually pretty cool. It tells you the charge level of your battery, the cabin temp, when your next oil change is due, and more. Pretty cool. It does cost $60 a year to subscribe to that service, with the first month free to try it out. I’m in the trial now. I wasn’t going to pay the subscription, but now that I’m using it, I absolutely will. Whether you do or not, the fact that even the fob (which has a really good range too) will confirm that your car started (or not!) is pretty priceless on a below-zero day. But the greatest thing about being able to use my phone is that i can start my car while I’m checking out at the grocery store or while I’m shaving in the morning. From anywhere there’s a cell signal. On these super cold days I love that I can give it the extra warm up time. Hope that helps!

The flashing led lights gives thieves a second thought and I had another installed on my Ford Explorer immediately after purchase last month because I was so amazed at this add on security to my vehicles. I am so thankful for the installer and the location who explains all features to me Yes I recommend purchasing one today if possible
