• This is an "upgrade kit" if you already have a Compustar Remote Start already installed, an add on, it will not work on it's own.

• Yes, that is correct. You may need additional equipment depending on the vehicle to make it work. An associate can look up your vehicle and let you know. I recently had one installed on my vehicle and it works like a charm.
