• This product is intended for cutting hair on the head But I have personally used it in other areas. It is definitely quieter than other machines but it's still loud.

• This can do both, but it's best suited for cutting hair in my opinion. Certainly can be used for trimming a beard and setting the edge, I just found it a little big for me to navigate my face.
