The directions state your hair must be fully dried. I purchased because I thought it was a paddle air brush dryer. Instead it's a heated smoothing brush. I have very thick 4c type hair. It did what it was designed to do. It works best if your hair length is at least to your shoulder. Impossible to curl hair with this device.
