We were told by the Best Buy tech that it only amplifies current cell bars. If you have no bars, then there is nothing to be amplified so it won't work.

The outside antenna is directional, It acts as a relay tower, so if it cannot pick up a signal outside your home, then it will not help, inside your home. Best Buy told us if it did not work we could return it. I don't know if that is true or not, since it worked for me, where we had to run to door or windows or outside to take and make calls or text, we now have service throughout our home.

I can talk and text and use the LTE I am able to watch videos that I never could before. I highly recommend this booster.

I would highly recommend this product. We did the outside mount and cabled to the inside. It is so worth it if you are tired of not having any signal. Extremely happy with it.
