A:Answer As long as your Compaq has slots for DDR3 SODIMM chips, this should work with your motherboard. In fact, I used this RAM to help soup up an old Compaq Presario C700 (C714nr), and the computer is now running Windows 10 (ver 1809) at an impressive speed and seems almost like a brand new machine. (In addition to the memory upgrade, I also replaced the computer's original hard drive with an SSD.) Check first, though, to see if you need to upgrade the BIOS on your Compaq's motherboard (you should be able to find your computer's original specs on the manufacturer's web site). On mine, the original BIOS wouldn't recognize more than two gigs of RAM, so I had to hunt down an upgrade on the internet--which really wasn't too hard--and flash the BIOS with the upgrade before the computer would recognize the increased memory provided by these chips.
