• From all of the research I've read this comes down to personal preference. Quite a few of the computer experts I trust have all said the factory paste is just fine.

• Hi Annihilous, The cooler will have a sufficient amount of pre-applied thermal paste for your first installation. If you ever have to remove the CPU block to reinstall, you would want to clean any existing thermal paste off and to reapply new thermal paste.
