Hi Noob, The physical size of the radiator and the fans that mount to them are different. The 240mm uses 2x 120mm fans while the 280mm uses 2x 140mm fans. Each will require that your case have the proper mounting locations for the radiator to be installed. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 240mm radiator is a bit smaller, as it's accompanied by two 120mm fans (roughly 288cm² of airflow area). The 280mm radiator has two 140mm fans for roughly 392cm² of airflow area, but the downside is that fewer cases are designed to mount the larger 140mm fans (often you'll see cases that can accommodate a 360mm radiator, which is 3x120mm fans, but they still won't have the mounting for a 280mm radiator). The attached image shows NZXT coolers rather than Corsair, but it gives you an idea of relative size.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The bigger 140mm fans on the 280mm H115i cooler are obviously larger, which allows them to run slower and therefore quieter than the smaller 120mm fans on the H100i cooler.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One is bigger than the other...?
