“I connected this power supply to a pc that I am building. I notice that the Fan on the power supply starts and then stops. The Asus motherboard shows error code 02 ("ap initialization before microcode loading"). Should I return the PSU?”

Try to check your wires connections. Check your motherboard manual to see the meaning of the error. Try your psu with a new system to see it is working. If it is working, then the issue might be with your motherboard or anything else. I never had an issue with mine.
