A:Answer Two 8 gb sticks is the same as adding one 16 gb stick , You should try to match the MHZ because the laptop will go with the lower frequency rate. My ROG chimera gtx 1080 16 2666 MHz of ram, if I go to ROG GAMING CENTER it shows benchmarks , my computer has 2 power supplies for turbo mode . I have 2 slots for up to 64 gb of ram but all I really need is 16 . I can put both 8 gb cards in and it will be 32 go of ram but will run better with 16 because of the factory card. I have 2 tb of HDD and 512 gb of ssd and it is almost full and the 16 gb 2666 MHz of ram is smooth and steady. I also stream , and use powerful programs , autocad, revet, and solid works, no problems. For $3000 it is a great investment, I’m really happy.
