Hi, That'd be correct, all headsets (that I know of) would be simulated surround sound as the wouldn't have the drivers to do "true" 7.1. If you have any more questions, please reach out: support.corsair.com

Yes, it supports virtual 7.1 surround sound (enable it in the iCUE software).
