I've read online of others who were experiencing the same, REALLY BAD HDR, the monitor thinking that HDR was on even when it was off and swapping back on and off did not fix it, nor reconnecting cables. Signal dropping in and out for no reason. Common? null

Not common at all and the monitor has a brightness stabilizer feature provided to improve dimming changes within Windows' environments.

You can somewhat mitigate the HDR issues with Windows settings (which artificially increase the brightness to compensate). This monitor lacks the ability to appropriately correct the HDR issues because Corsair is not implementing iCUE.
