I use my ipod nano 7th gen with the headphone out to the line input of the G5. I know audiophiles would harp on me for double amping and not using the line out or digital. But the thing these audiophiles or most anyway don't realize is that amps are spec'ed at reasonable stress level on the amp. When the amp is singing softly the performance measurements are nearly unmeasurable. THD, what distortion? SNR, depends on the noise and can't tell just standalone. With that said, I think the ipod coupled with the G5 is quite good.
