• This phone is locked to Cricket service. You can request to have the phone unlocked after 6 months of service with Cricket. Therefore, it is NOT unlocked and can't be used with T-Mobile. Great phone through.

• Yep. Best idea is to look up the many how to videos on YouTube. The cost varies between a few bucks and sixty bucks. It's pretty simple and there is a host of unlocking companies out there to do it. Cricket will do it for a price also I believe although they say you need six months service first.
