This is a great phone for the money. I replaced a Asus Zenphone with similar specs due to a broken screen and so far this phone runs much smoother. The battery lasts a good 2 days with normal use. I was pleasantly surprised by the camera which takes good pictures in both light and dark. Bluetooth and Wifi have been connecting great and call quality is much better than my previous phone. This is a great budget phone with specs that match phones twice as expensive, go for it.

Huawei has done a great job on this phone. The screen, camera, and performance are great. It would be nice if this phone had a fingerprint reader and USB C charging port and I would've gladly paid a little more for this phone.

Huawei has been in the news lately for its owner's ties to the Chinese government. That aside, they make excellent low-cost phones and have been trying to enter the US market for years. The Elate is probably the best bargain that Cricket offers. I got mine along with a $30 top-up card for $65 total. The phone's CPU is fairly speedy, and its 720p display looks very nice. The 2GB of RAM mean that it runs most applications smoothly, although multitasking is limited. Leaving an app will usually mean it gets dumped out of memory immediately The best thing of all about this phone, though, is the battery. 4000 mAh combined with lower spec hardware and fairly aggressive power saving features equals a smartphone with astonishing battery life. With regular use, I can get a day and a half between charges. The phone's body is slippery plastic with a metal back. Camera is okay at best. I purchased this as a backup phone for my Moto X Pure, and the only thing I really miss from my main phone is the large internal storage and extra gig of RAM. Aside from that, this functions as a great daily driver (assuming you don't try to run games on it).

I was sceptical about the price at first. But after seeing a few reviews rated 5 stars and knowing from previous experience that the camera can be pretty good with Huawei I decided to give it a try and I'm very happy. I loved it so much I purchased a second one. By the way you can avoid the upgrade charge cricket requires by purchasing the phone here and switching your sim card out (depending on what size you are currently using in your phone).

this is my second review about this phone,As after a month of use my opinion has changed it gets really hot after use if your try to open a link through your email ; the previously opened webpage will be replaced by the new one:( if you get an incoming call while recording a video, and even if you don't answer the call, as soon as the phone stop ringing, your video will stop recording too :( camera is okay if you are very very still, it has an LED flash for alerts and notification, green for call, yellow for charging ,red for low battery and blue for text. memory has not been an issue for me, it's reasonable if you have a block list, phone will still notify you of the call in notification, speaker is a little annoying and loud but okay for this price. I got this for 34$ as I purchased cricket 30$ refill with it, got both in 64$ it does come with a sim card(best buy pick up associate didn't know this, and told me to buy a sim card too) overall it's a good phone for regular use

I bought this for my aunt as an upgrade from her craptastic old ZTE phone. I can't get over how perfect this phone is, not to mention the price!! I spent 3 hours researching Cricket phones & I was torn between this and the Stylo 3, but I heard Huawei is on the rise recently and it is half the price and has a 4MP better camera, so I figured I'd give it a try. Honestly I got way more than I expected.. I'm blown away by this phone! It's fast, comes with enough space for someone who doesn't do a whole lot, and looks and feels great! I was worried it may look weird with the metal on the back, but in person it looks way better than the photo. It's also very quirky.. lots of neat settings that I've never seen on a phone before! I love this phone so much, I'm actually considering getting one for myself now & I have the LG V20 which is a flagship phone haha. The only thing I don't like is you can't move apps to the SD card. From what I read online, Huawei doesn't support this yet, but I am hoping they'll get on board soon. We've had it for a week now, and that's the only complaint I have so far. All in all, this is the best bang for your buck!

I've paid more for phones that don't work half as great. This phone is such a great deal for the money. I love Huawei.... They are the third biggest phone manudactuerer in the world behind Apple and Samsung. They picked some of the best features from their high end to put on this underpriced device. It's fast, has app tray, great energy saving settings, stays charged for over 18hours, charges lightning fast no matter what charger you use. I can use all my apps and my camera is really clear and nice. And it's hotspot eligible with Cricket.

Solid performance for a budget phone. 2 GB of RAM and Oct-core processor combined to allow multiple light apps to be loaded without any problems. Screen is large and bright, perfectly adequate for users not demanding the highest pixel density. Cameras are better than expected for phones in its price range.

I was recently with Verizon Prepaid but after some thinking I decided to switch to Cricket due to the cheaper plans. Now theres little to no info on the Huawei Elate phone anywhere except for whatever YouTube videos you will find. But after buying the phone for the $64.99 price tag, I am super happy with it. Now for the techy people out there it has a 1.4GHZ Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 processor like the website says. 2GB of ram. (1.8GB of ram in reality). 16GB of memory but because of Huawei's heavy UI its 7.68GB to the user out of the box. That might deter some people from buying the phone but if youre like me, and you don't download a lot of apps then the memory shouldn't be an issue. Whats also really cool is that when you go into Settings and scroll all the way down and you click on About Phone, you literally see all the info about the phone. The android 7.0. Your phones IMEI number. Storage space and much more. And in case anyone is curious the phone, as far as I can tell, comes with Enhanced LTE Services (HD Voice). Call quality is amazing. People sounded VERY clear (8.5-9 out of 10). Also the 12MP rear cam takes vey good to excellent pictures and videos. Video quality can be everything from FullHD 1080p to MMS recording. And from what I have seen video quality at 1080P is very good but audio quality can be iffy depending on what youre recording. And the 8MP front cam also takes 1080p FullHD recording. Pictures are not bad. But if youre in a dark area the front screen will completely light up to simulate a flash when you put it to that setting. Picture quality for the front cam is ok nothing amazing. Performance is stellar for me. No lagging. No shut offs. No major issues. Very smooth. Oh and it doesn't show it but there is a LED Notification Light for all those who love that stuff. its a nice surprised when I found out about that. You cant change the color unfortunately, but it blinks green when you get messages or missed calls. But an awesome feature. Now as for the 4,000mAh battery, I'm able to easily go about a day and a half without charging with light to moderate use. Your usage will vary. Oh and theres Dual Wi-Fi which is awesome. And the phone uses a Nano Sim card not a Micro Sim for those wondering. Anyways theres ALOT more to the phone but this review is already long enough. No problems at all amazing phone, worth EVERY penny in my opinion. I have a couple of videos on my youtube channel GTX970 just type in Cricket Wireless "overview" of the Huawei Elate and youll find me if you want to know more. Hope this review helps.

I run about six apps constantly (Snapchat, FB, Instagram, messenger, maps, etc..) and because of my job my phone searches for service a lot but the battery still lasts me all day despite constant use (data, calls, games). The camera is good if you can hold it steady and the memory is great for lots of photos but videos will take it up fast. Had trouble getting music on it through the program they require you to download but a YouTube video quickly fixed that. Overall good phone for the price.

Just upgraded from Samsung Amp 2. Huawei Elate is much faster surfing and when I open apps. Much better camera. Only negative is internal memory. Was expecting more internal memory for a 16GB phone. Lots of firmware leaves me with only 7.5GB of memory, but that's enough for me. Overall, excellent phone. Highly recommend.
