I tried using it on two different record players - one rather small one playing three speeds of vinyl records (45's, 78's and 331/3's) and it also had a MP3 player. The other one I have has the capability of playing the previous three speed vinyl records, it has an AM and FM radio, it plays CDs and cassettes. They both have a cover over the turntable and the record clamp, although not flat is no more than an inch or so high. Regarding its size, it was not a problem fitting under the cover of either record player I have - either the small one or the larger one. You should not have any difficulty with your Pioneer model.
