That Dell, optiplex 9020 comes in a variety of forms, however this CRUTIAL SATA SSD should operate with any of them. the two caveat is that if you own the micro form factor you may be required to use nvme vs. 2.5 media. The other is on the other side of the spectrum, you may need a 3.5” to 2.5”adapter to accommodate the drive. Open the case and have a look.

I believe Sata is backwards compatible so you shouldn't need to worry about SATA version 2 or 3. The drive is SATA 3 so if you have SATA 3 header your speed should be good. Depending on your case you may want a spacer for mounting it in a larger drive bay. Dell may provide a 2.5 " bay, so I'd open the case and check before buying a spacer.
