The expansion port on that Gateway PC only works with M.2 SATA SSD, not Nvme PCIe. The internal slot comes with an M.2 SATA SSD installed but it actually supports M.2 Nvme PCIe as well. So, when upgrading you would want to move the included drive to the expansion slot (it will work) and put an upgraded M.2 Nvme PCIe drive into the internal slot. Select to boot from the original drive that's now in the expansion slot and use backup software like Acronis to clone the original drive to the new, faster drive. Then select to boot from the new drive in the internal slot.

We are sorry to inform you that currently we do not have any compatible upgrades available as per details of the system. In this case we would request you to refer owners manual of system and check if SSD is removable. If yes, please match the specifications of laptop with SSD to understand compatibility. We have checked laptop manufacturer website so unable to see the exact specifications. If you found that there is NVMe slot on your laptop, then P2 SSD will work. Regards
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I assume you are referring to slot 2. If so this drive fits but I could not get this drive or a western digital drive to work in that slot. I checked these drives in another laptop and they both work. It appears slot 2 is not designed to function on these laptops. I also looked in the system bios and it doesn’t give you a way enable slot 2. Let me know if you have a different experience.
