Yes only as an external using a USB 3 or thunderbolt enclosure. Use APFS File system for trim support as garbage collection when files are deleted specifically large files like videos. Otherwise your write speed will slow down as it gets filled up near capacity. ExFat file system will allow read and write compatibility with windows but you loss trim support.

Please try again later.Hello, thanks for getting in touch, Macbook Pro's from 2016 to 2022 have an SSD (storage) that is not upgradeable, it is soldered onto the main board. However the Thunderbolt 3 and 4 port is as fast as internal storage. A solution for low storage is to add an external SSD for storage or use as a new boot disk.
