Yes it does. In fact the coffee filters I am currently using were from a previous 4-5 cup coffee maker I had.

If you're referring to a #4 filter, yes, you can use #4 filters but they are not the right size. However, I found packs of #4 filter on sale and bought them. Just scrunch them into the filter area and they work perfectly. Or you can cut them down. Not a problem at all. Ideally you just need a #2.
