We have owned this grill for about 5 months now and I love it. My husband is actually cooking on it too (that is new, believe me!). The grease drips down the back of the base unit into a plastic well that is easy to pull out and wash with soapy water. It works well! We cook steaks, chicken, vegetables, hot dogs, panini and all kinds of grilled sandwiches with it. No smoke. And the grill plates pop right off and clean in the dishwasher. No big mess afterwards.

I Used to use a hamburger cooker with a grease pan that just sat in front of the device and there was the problem of the grease pan getting out of position. This Quisinart device does not have that problem as the grease pan slides into the underside and sticks out the back where the grease drips into it. You can cook in the closed position to cook the top and bottom of the food at the same time, or in the open position for twice the cooking area and flip the food during cooking. When cooking open, grease from both the top and bottom cooking surface can drip into the same pan.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This has a rised edge all around: so far only use it on paninis but last week i fried mushrooms and cherry tomatoes in olive oil and didn’t make a mess at all!! The juices stayed inside of because the deep edge around it!
