It's not fixed to the shield, but it's basically a plastic toothpick, so I wouldn't use it for a letter opener.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The sword and shield can be seperated. It is not worth purchacing for the novelty of a letter opener. The plastic is so cheap that I don't know if it would last long. Besides that. It would be super annoying to take it out and afix back to the shield when you done opening letters. It is stuck onto the shield by a short circular plastic partusion that fits into an inset in the shield. It is a real struggle to put them back together. I swear that it took me at least 5 minutes to put it back on the first time. Plus. The paint job is horrendous.
