• The UPS can be put onto it's side. If it were to be enclosed, all we recommend is to have 1 inch of breathing room for the vents. Thank you for submitting your question!

• I do not believe this is a good idea. There are cooling ports on both sides of the device, so closing one of those off by laying the unit on one side might cause excessive heat. Maybe if you engineered some type of stand that would support the weight of the device without blocking those ports, it might work that way.

• Yes that should be fine. The type of battery in it allows it to function sideways.
