Hello Joe, You would never want to daisy chain a surge strip into any other surge strip or UPS as it would become a fire hazard. Extension cords may be used if there is only one output and if the wire gauge is the same or larger wire gauge. For more detail, please reach out to our team at 877-297-6937. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know the warnings manufacturers say about extension cords. Here is my logic Check the gauge\thickness of the wire coming out of the device. Buy the same or lower guage (thicker) formthe chord. Its not rocket science, it cant cause a fire if the gauge is thicker. Its just that manufacturers know people buy the cheapest garbage for 2.99 at dollar tree, so they say that. And yes i ran my space heater dyson with a low gauge cable from home depot for years and no problem
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The reason why you don’t do it is because it’s a fire hazard. UPS have limits to their power and can easily catch fire. Do not use an extension cord or plug strip.
