• The GXT1500 has no external/additional battery option available. You are limited to the run time it comes with out of the box.

• No, you cannot add an external battery to the unit. The serial plug is a DB9 port. This port is used for connecting between the UPS and equipment designed to operate with a dry contact closure.

• Hello Tobs, this unit unfortunately does not have the option for an extended battery. The serial cable is for the UPS to connect to the software that can be installed to manage the UPS. Great question!
