It will charge, as needed, whenever it is plugged into the wall.

Simple answer is yes. Batteries do degrade over time. they build up a memory of types, just think of it getting old. It does not hold a charge for 30 minutes use - only 10 minutes use. If its a mission critical area, test it by unplugging it and see how long it works.

YES......MUST BE PLUGED INTO AN A/C OUTLET!!!!!

This battery will charge as long as its plugged in. Even when in use the battery will stay charged and ready in case of power loss.

It has to be plugged in to charge the batteries.
