Hello Klkbb, this battery back-up system is not capable of powering an electric recliner, as most electric recliners have motors inside that provide a significant inrush current, which cannot be supported by the 450VA UPS. This inrush current can cause the UPS to overload, potentially damaging the unit and causing it to shut down. If this happens, the recliner would be left stuck in whatever position it was in at the time of the power loss.
