A:Answer That depends on the situation you're in. Did your computer come with windows pre activated? If it did and your just asking this for future reinstalls of windows 10, you shouldn't have to worry about it. Most newer systems don't come with activation keys from my recent experience. I have bought 5 PCs and laptops over the last 2 years and none come with keys. Generally windows come activated already with the key itself being saved to your motherboard as well as your microsoft account with windows 10. So long as you don't change your motherboard, you shouldn't have to worry about the key, however if you do change the motherboard according to microsoft forums, you have limited re-activations through your microsoft account assuming you have created one.
Don't quote me on that activation through microsoft account though, since i have only ever done reinstalls on the same motherboard.
IF and this is a BIG if, you do want to know your CD key, there is a program out there called produkey from nirsoft.net, however the nature of its type of program does trigger a few AV programs. Microoft does have a few forum posts regarding the program but they are also precautous about it. i can say however that neither my windows defender or malwarebytes detect it as malicious. USE AT OWN RISK!
