“Is there any advantage to connect 2 separate cables, one Display Port and 1 HDMI between the same graphics card in this PC to 2 corresponding ports on the same monitor? I actually have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX1070 in mine.”

Thank you for reaching out to us MarkA. The monitor will only pick up one of the cables. If your monitor has a high refresh rate, it is recommended that you use the DP cable.
