On the side of the PC there is a product code you need to type in. Under settings / update & security there should be and activation bullet you can click on. In this section it should say something like change product key or something to that end you will then enter the 25 digit code on the sticker on the side of the PC. It will have a grey scratch off protection on some of the key to keep it unique and safe but be careful when removing this because it's easy to damage the actual sticker and if you can't read the key because of that you could end up it trouble.

But I bought a external CD drive when I bought the PC because I thought I would need it for some things. Could do most things with work around but only cost a few dollars and sometimes easiest way.
