The discs are included in the event Windows fails to load or you need to reinstall Windows on the PC. In order to use the discs, you will need to purchase an external DVD drive otherwise the software has been preinstalled for you. Please note that the Best Buy product page does indicate that this model PC does not include a built-in DVD/CD drive otherwise all our PC's will include the recovery discs.
