I bought this computer for my son back in April and he loves it. He has had no trouble with the power cord or anything else for that matter, and he has spent many hours gaming on it.

That incident is not something that is isolated to the PSU that was installed in their PC. For something like that to happen the issue is caused by undergoing specific and rare circumstances.
