144hz with AMD freesync is going to be your best option. This computer is great but you are not going to be able to run games at 1080p 240hz. Same with many games at 144hz unless they're older. My i7 quad core 1080GTX w/ 16 gigs of ram has trouble keeping 144hz on poorly optimized modern games in 1080p.

The higher the Hz, the smoother the rendering of the images that are shown. Depending on your budget, you would want a high Hz monitor and response time between 1-5ms.
