“On the top of the case there is a blue light that stays on and a red light that blinks. What are these two lights and what status does there blinking or lack there of indicate?”

The blue light is the power light and the red light blinks when the hard drive is working (reading or writing data).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say the blue light is a power on indicator showing the PC is powered on and the blinking red light indicates the the SSD drive is reading and writing to the disk.
