Yes, it has the empty bay slot for a add on, and it has 2 more Serial ATA for additional peripherals.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There are additional slots for one internal CD, DVD or Blue ray burner . One additional slot for an internal SSD drive and 1 standard Hard drive. Technically you could fit a card reader in the DVD slot however I'm not certain there are the required connections to actually attach it . That said I can't imagine on a PC this well constructed and well made there wouldn't be but I can't say for certain and looking into the case I'm not seeing anything from my vantage point . Now there are 2 front USB3 external slots and 5 rear USB 3s with what appears to be 1 new USB C .This PC is such a great deal and significantly powerful for it's price point ( LOTS of Bang for the buck ) Not having an internal card reader would be a deal breaker .
