Unless you know the IT guy and you can talk to him about what protocols that they allow and which ones they block, chances are you will not be able to stream video through their captive (private) network. You could always try it and if it doesn't work return it

You could buy it and return it to a Best Buy if it didn't work. 2 week return policy. You'll probably have to work with the assisted living IT guru for router settings. With computers there is usually a way if there is a will. Good luck. :-)
