I have both models, and each has its advantages. The DCS-2630L camera has no wired network port, making it a little more challenging to set up at first. It has a wider viewing angle (180 degrees) which means almost no need to pan the camera left or right to view things, and has 1080 resolution resulting in a better image (although a bit rounded because of the 180 degrees). The DCS-5222L, though, has an easier setup and a more reliable network connection. My DCS-5222L records flawlessly to its micro SD card, while the DCS-2630L has yet to recognize the same, exact model of micro SD card. I am hoping D-link will fix this with a firmware update.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 180 degree HD view makes pan and tilt unnecessary in my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both the 5222 and 2630. By far I prefer the 2630 for picture quality (1080 vs 720p). The only slight advantage of the 5222 is it can pan but the wide angle (180 degrees) makes up for this. The response time of the 2630 seems quicker also when viewing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Greater than 180degree Wide view without needing to move it around. Clear HD color picture.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.we have both and agree the pan/tilt is a bit tricky especially with a touch screen. The full HD 180 view is so much faster and easier than the pan/tilt model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The down side to a pan & tilt is that you have to pan & tilt. Something may be happening on the side of the room that the pan & tilt camera is not pointed at. The advantage to this camera is that it's field of view is so wide there is no need to pan & tilt, it can view the entire room. The downside is you are potentially cramming a lot of information into this one picture, so people & objects can appear small.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes, new video and connection technology. audio quality poor. simple to set up with android tablet, windows device wouldn't connect for initial setup(no real surprise) view function on all our devices great. The price difference was worth it for me for instant whole room view. the pan/tilt controls on cheaper model are inconvenient for touch screens.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Problem nothing. The DCS-5222, however, might actually work.
