Yes, it has motion detection and will alert you on your smart phone. You can have it record the motion too.

You want to put banner on so it’ll pop up on your phone and your notifications when you install the app. I have to tell you that if you have a set for motion and sound it is going to be popping up all the time. It is way too sensitive. If you for example have an Alexa and you tell her to turn the light on it’s going to pop up but it pops on often on all time I get alerts all the time for no apparent reason it has asupersensitive a msensor that goes off for nothing. It’s one of the aggravating things about this camera along with the fact that if falls off line a lot you have to reboot it by unplugging and plugging it back in The positive of the camera is the price, that you could put it up to the glass and take off the infrared and look outside and the fact that you can use your 5G network if you have dual band Wi-Fi
