no, the back one means its on and the front yellow means the wifi is poor or not connecting well. you need to have a better connection and once you do the front one turns green

That LED behavior does seem normal, I would format the SD card anyway. I did it and it works very well. In any device, when you install a SD card, you should format it by the device.
