“On the D-link product line it seems that the reviews come back that this is a difficult product to program( wifi related). Since this is the newest product in the D-Link line has anything changed with the ease of programming. Im looking for easy set up.”

Super easy set up! It comes with one of those qr code things that you just focus your camera on (while in the app). It has step. T step instructions and only takes a couple of minutes. So easy a grandma could do it ha ha

You all are cheating and setting up everyone for failure and frustration when you give incorrect ratings! DON'T GIVE MORE THAN A STAR IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS! 5 STARS MEANS (PERFECT) NOT YOU PUTTING UP WITH FLAWS AND AGGRAVATION! AT LEAST BE VERY SPECIFIC ON WHY YOU HAD PROBLEMS ANNNNNNNNDDDD THE TIME IT TOOK TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS! 5 DAYS NOW AND CAM SYSTEM IS STILL NOT WORKING ADEQUATELY! RIGHT NOW MY 5030L IS OFFLINE! I am already seeing a warning that thier entrance page is going to be offline again! You are going to have to become an expert about the internet and all its protocols! Better off to have an alarm system installed or purchase hard wire professional cams! I had to buy a new router to get the cams going; 5030L and a 936L. Their cams WILL NOT connect to my old G+ Linksys router without connecting first by ethernet so at first day only one cam would work. The instructions that come with the cams are incorrect, for most they won't work, and you will realize with most router's you have to connect to wifi by ethernet first to get the cams going. Even after I connected, the G+ can't keep up with the overloaded bandwidth of the cams forcing me to replace my wifi router. You will have to upgrade to at least AC 1600. Pay close attention to what is mentioned on their entrance page. Their equipment isn't working correctly with Explorer, Edge, Chrome and especially Firefox! They clearly state not working with Firefox 52. For Chrome, I only see a page that says if I am having problems viewing the interface try Firefox, Explorer, etc etc and of course Firefox does not work! Explorer too has completely blocked me and I ahve yet to find the right sequence of changes to access the page! Because of this, I still can't access the cam's interfaces to format the sd cards. Even after accepting faulty certificates my webpages are blocking me from my cams. They mention Safari, but I don't have a Mac! When I changed to my other desktop, Kaspersky Anti-Virus blocks my connection to My Dlink after 30 minutes. Kaspersky doesn't even trust Dlink, lol. The only way I know to record is to buy their $200 hard-drive. With their dlink page constantly dropping I couldn't even use screen capture software to record until I made up my mind to keep the cams and pay the $200 for their hdd. In 5 days, the two cameras I own have gone offline twice each two different days. CURIOUS, I can't connect to Ispy so of course I gotta pay the $.99 for their Dlink+. The Dlink Lite is nearly useless and won't even display more then one camera at a time! Again, remember, I hardwired one cam because I can't record with sd cards of the cams that are wireless because web browsers I have won't let me access the cam's interfaces. You have to be able to format the sd card and you can only set the recording functions at the camera's interface page not at Dlink entrance page! Wait till you see how bad the video is distorted. I couldn't find proper codecs for their video footage. I recorded with two different screen capture software programs, and I dare Dlink to tell me Camtasia doesn't have great codec software! The internet connection is blocking my cellphone. I can't upload pics. I hope this all makes since! Good luck and I will immediately apologize for this horrible company that gives so many others a bad name! My best guess is when you afre finally up and running, you will have spent twice as much as initially expected replacing last years tech...

Shortly before the store closed about 850p.m. , I purchased this product the 5030L from BestBuy in Southern Indiana. What a mess! At 2 a.m. I finally decided no more wasting my time! My wifi couldn't detect the camera. When I tried to access the camera locally via my cellphone, D Link Lite kept telling me the password did not match! I know I was typing it in correctly. The instructions do not give the cipher type only SSID and Password!!!!!!!!! After more than an hour or two playing with this JUNK, I wasn't going to keep trying AES and TKIP each over and over to make sure I had chosen the correct one. Each time trying to get modem and camera to detect each other you have to wait over a minute. And when trying to connect directly one has to go through the whole cycle to get to the point the status light will blink orange. One can't just immediately connect directly one has to try to connect by modem wifi first. The free D Link software for the cellphone freezes and I am not about to pay for the 99cent software that clearly should come with the camera! Yes, the second choice at Goggle Play store cost 99 cents. Sometimes the camera rotated and turned and LEDs lit up for its startup cycle sometimes it didn't.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I own a business with multiple locations as well as having cameras in my home to keep an eye on my teens while Im working.. I started out with the camera system and thought it was fair at best.. Setup was fairly easy but overall very slow / sluggish witha 60MB p/sec network 60x10mbps.. I switched to another product just to try out and wish I never invested into the D-Link lineup. I have 3 different cams 5030L , 931L , & 933L.. Takes forever for them to load and very pooor video quality all around. There are much better options at lower costs.

One type needs to be registered and activated through a wired Ethernet connection. The other provides a login and password the link it to your Ethernet connection through a an app downloaded to your device or computer. Both types of products work well but packaged information sheets are incomplete and do not provide complete answers. FAQs at the D-link site may help greatly. With care in setup, these are useful and provide help as advertised.
