  • QuestionI would like to be directed to a site where I can see what the top of this stove looks like. This site only shows the front of the appliance. I cannot find any store that currently carries this model in the SF Bay Area. Thanks, Paul

    • Answer I went to a Pacific Sales store to see this model since Best Buy owns Pacific Sales. It has Brass and Stainless on top. The golden brass encircles the burner and it looks great with gold hardware or gold/brass lighting. It looks very modern and it also has a removable griddle on top. The burner grates are heavy like cast iron and the surface around the burners looks like ceramic. This means you can clean it well. What I like the most is that the oven racks are thick and heavy like my current stove that is over 20 years old (a Frigidaire !). I shopped at Lowes and Home Depot looking for a good stove and the grates in the oven are so flimsy, I cannot believe they will hold a TG turkey or a big tray of lasagna. This Dacor range wasn't much more than Kitchenaid, etc and I think it looks sturdier than Thor or Thermador. The Thermador runs a close 2nd but doesn't look as cool. I hope this helps. By the way, I checked out an Italian range because I originally went looking for a colored Zline range. The Bertazzoni isn't very good quality in person. The area surrounding the burners looks like aluminum, very thin and easy to scratch with a basic sponge. I also read that the pilot goes out a lot. The Zline seems better. I am not done with my research of Dacor, but so far it looks the best for heavy items like TG turkeys, lasagnas and casseroles and also the grates do not look like they will sag over time, which leads to lopsided cakes and breads.
