Thank you for your question. There is always a small change in temperature before the unit goes back into the cooling cycle however this amount of a temperature swing does need to be looked at. Thank you for your question. This unit is a free-standing unit, and should not be built into any cabinet or counter. The unit needs at least 5 inches of space on all sides to ensure the unit has proper ventilation.
